Two people were killed and three were injured after a four-vehicle crash in northeast Minnesota on Thursday afternoon.
A Toyota Corolla with four people was moving west on Minnesota Highway 135 in Gilbert when the driver of the car lost control around 3:55 p.m.
The Corolla crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Yaris, driven by a 64-year-old identified as Scott John Pershern, who was traveling east on Highway 135.
According to Minnesota State Patrol, the Corolla was then T-boned by an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu on Highway 135 driven by a 51-year-old identified as Thomas David Sturgis. The Malibu was then rear-ended by a Volkswagen Passat driven by a 29-year-old identified as Ryan Mark Tuuri.
Two people in the Corolla were killed in the crash. It includes the driver of the Corolla and a small boy who was a passenger. Their identifies haven’t been released as of yet.
The other two passengers in the Corolla were admitted to area hospitals for injuries.
