by Ron Grant

The TV commercials for the 2011 Cayenne from Porsche are starting to hit the airwaves. Here is the first installment called “Utility Redefined”.

Lighter. More agile. More efficient. Who will be able to sleep with a new Porsche in their garage?

The base 2011 Porsche Cayenne that outputs 300 horsepower has a sticker price of $46,700. The Cayenne S that gives out 400 HP has a tag price of $63,700 while the S Hybrid can be yours for $67,700. The top of the line Cayenne Turbo will deduct about $104,800 from your bank account.

The spotlight is on the 2011 Cayenne S Hybrid that makes use of a supercharged V6 3.0L gas engine that gives out 333 horsepower which is coupled with a 47 horsepower electric motor. The hybrid setup allows the car to give out 380 horsepower with a peak torque of 427 pound feet. The smaller engine packs a similar performance as a V-8 while giving it an increase of 20% in fuel mileage.
