About 53,544 examples of automobiles were sold in the Vietnamese market during the first two months of 2022.

This showed a 34 percent year-on-year increase according to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.

Sales of domestically assembled automobiles increased 41 percent to 32,310 units, while those of imported ones increased 25 percent year on year to 21,234.

The sale increase of domestic automobiles was attributable to the existing applied policy which reduces the 50 percent of registration fees between December 2021 and May 2022.

The local automobile market is expected to increase further in 2022 due to ongoing supporting measures by the Vietnamese government, more effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the recovery of the worldwide market.
