by David Bond

Volkswagen has revealed plans to introduce at the ongoing 2013 Worthersee the Amarok R-Style Concept.

The concept has been envisioned as a sportier variant of the Amarok and is fitted with a V6 3.0-liter TDI engine capable of delivering 272 HP (200 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. The mill is well connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission gearbox. The Amarok R-Style will be able to accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in 7.9 seconds.

The concept sits on massive 22-inch alloys wrapped in 295/35 performance tires and has been fitted with 60 mm wider fenders to make space for the larger rims. Other modifications include carbon diffuser, three big air intakes below the front bumper, sill extensions with integrated carbon plates, as well as two chromed tailpipes at the rear.

In the interiors it comes fitted with the GTI treatment with a black or red or white color theme, race bucket seats, sport steering wheel, along with an eight-inch touchscreen, 500w subwoofer and a carbon fiber dashboard.
