Volkswagen Golf VII R by Oettinger packs 400 hp

by SpeedLux

Volkswagen has confirmed they will take the hot Golf R 400 concept into production with the 2.0 TFSI potentially producing more than 400 hp.

If you can’t wait for that long and want something similar right now, then German tuner Oettinger has the right solution that is very similar to the wild production ready concept.

The stock model with 300 hp is already impressive, but with a larger turbocharger and an optimized ECU, the 2.0-liter turbo is tuned to deliver 400 hp and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. As a result the all-wheel drive Golf R goes from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 4.0 seconds on to a top speed of roughly 280 km/h (174 mph).

If 400 hp is too much, then Oettinger also offers a 360 and 380 hp versions.

In addition to a big power boost, the Oettinger Golf R is fitted with a new front spoiler, side skirts, roof spoiler with open R-flaps, and the 4 tail pipe rear skirt.

Sporty Oettinger rims are available in 19-inch or 20-inch sizes.
