Volkswagen plans to decrease working hours at a German plant making Passat automobiles due to the problems with materials from its internal seat producer Sitech.

A representative for the plant in Emden, in Volkswagen’s home state of Lower Saxony, stated about a 3rd of the factory’s 9,000 workers would be impacted, at first for a period from August 18 to 24.

The factory develops an estimated of 1,250 Passat cars a day on average, including the CC coupe version.
