Volkswagen has revealed the all-new Taigo SUV coupe in Europe.

The Taigo is the first SUV coupe by the brand to drive on the European roads.

The automaker has already introduced the compact crossover SUV as Nivus in South America and Mexico. It is based on the MQB-A0 platform, inspired by the Indian-market Volkswagen Taigun.

Tiago has a crossover body style. The rear of the model slopes backward in the style of a coupe, without making any compromise on the headroom of the back.

Taigo also provides the new IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights and an illuminated radiator grill crossbar. The LED strip at the rear runs over the width with the Volkswagen logo placed at the center.

Looking at the cabin, the car gets a multifunctional steering wheel and modern control elements as standard. The infotainment systems are based on the third generation of MIB3, including an online control unit (eSIM) and “App Connect Wireless”. Other features are: access to streaming services, natural voice control and cloud-based personalization.

In terms of safety and assistance, the car embedded the features such as the surroundings monitoring system, city emergency brake function, and the lane departure warning system.

The automaker also offers “IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist” as an optional feature that allows semi-automated driving up to a system-determined top speed of 210 km/h.

With Taigo, the automaker targets to attract young consumers by its design which is inspired by SUV coupés in higher vehicle classes.

The 2022 Volkswagen Taigo will be produced in Spain and delivered across Europe.
