The production ready Volkswagen made its debut at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Fair in Hannover, Germany. However, the car is not destined for the US of A and is a study of the Amarok pickup truck. There are two doors and a short cab while the vehicle is powered by 122 hp 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine. The vehicle is also incorporated with the firm’s fuel-saving BlueMotion Technology.

The Amarok Double Cab is actually a four door model. The length of the car is same as the four door model but has a 2.20 m long bed surface. This allows for two Europa pallets to be easily stowed in one behind the other configuration when loaded transversely.

The fuel consumption as claimed by Volkswagen is 7.4 lt / 100 km for the 122HP 2.0 TDI model which converts to [31.8mpg US], to 6.9 lt per 100 kilometers [34mpg US].

The car has been manufactured at the Buenos Aires factory in Argentina.
