Woman accidentally hits neighbor’s car in drunken rage

A woman trashed what she believed was her cheating boyfriend’s vehicle in a drunken rage– just to discover it belonged to a stranger, a court found.

Christine Ann Potten, 38, tore off the rear windshield wiper and a door trim and kicked off the driver’s mirror.

She stopped when a neighbor would wake up by 1 am, then open his window and shout: “That’s not your boyfriend’s car.”

Potten staggered to a home where she was staying in Yeovil however left a trail of blood after cutting herself, Somerset magistrates were informed.

When police arrived she responded to the door with her finger leaking blood and told them: “I’m a naughty girl aren’t I?”

Potten, of Sturminster Newton, Dorset, was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay the vehicle’s owner, Anita Meek, ₤ 336 ($443.82) compensation.
