A North Reading woman was passed away and her husband injured when a tree fell onto their vehicle while driving in Andover.
Massachusetts State Police verified that the woman was pronounced dead at Lawrence General Hospital following the incident on Route 125 near Wildwood Road.
Her husband was taken to the hospital, he is injured but is in stable condition.
Police did not discuss the identity of both. However, WBZ-TV has discovered that Elizabeth Roszkowski died in the accident.
Elizabeth Roszowski was a passenger and er husband Chris was driving the car.
Route 125 had been closed for two hours while the crash scene was cleared, but has since reopened.
“I heard a pretty incredible bang,” stated Art McDermott, who witnessed the tree falling down on the car. “I was just amazed when I saw the damage.”
Pastor Mark O’Connell of St. Theresa Parish said Roszkowski was “a beautiful, beautiful soul.”
“We’re still very shocked what happened to Elizabeth,” stated O’Connell. “She would have been here tomorrow. She’s here most every day.”
Massachusetts State Police regarded tree falling onto a passing vehicle to be “very rare”.
On Thursday a Sutton man was killed in Oxford after a tree fell and landed on his car.
