One person was killed and four others were njured following a two-vehicle crash in Apple Valley, California according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities identified the man as a 26-year-old from Barstow, named Gerardo Mendoza. He died at the scene of the Thursday night crash that took place at the intersection of Dale Evans Parkway and Stoddard Wells Road.
Emergency personnel responded to the incident right before 9:30 p.m. Deputies figured out that a 29-year-old woman, with one passenger, was driving a Nissan Altima eastbound on Stoddard Wells when she crashed with Mendoza who was heading northbound on Dale Evans in a Chevrolet Camaro.
Two occupants in the Chevrolet, and the driver and occupant of the Nissan all sustained injuries and were admitted to a local hospital.
Dale Evans Parkway and Stoddard Wells Road were shut for about six hours as the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
It is yet to be figured out that what led to the crash.
