The 2010 Legacy of Subaru is named the safest car in Japan. This follows several recognitions received by the model like the Grand Prix award from the JNCAP or Japan’s New Car Assessment Program.
The carmaker is in a roll since it is the third car in the last three years to grab the best honors. The Forester was able to get the award back in 2008 while the Impreza took it home back in 2007. Whilst these cars are very safe, it is vital that you research and choose the best car insurance available to cover any accidents that may occur. There are many factors and variables that distinguish different car insurance providers. Saga car insurance is an example of a provider that takes age into consideration when quoting drivers.
For the 2009 awarding, 17 vehicles were tested but only the Subaru Legacy passed the standards to be pinned with the best car award.
The Legacy got the safest car award when it was subjected to tests for collision safety. It also got the highest rating for the test for pedestrian head protection. Euro NCAP or the European New Car Assessment Programme issued 5 stars when they reviewed the 2010 Legacy. Australasian New Car Assessment Programme also stamped their repot with 5 stars. In the United States, IIHS or the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety tagged the 2010 Legacy as the Top Safety Pick for this year.
Subaru equipped the vehicle well in terms of making sure that the vehicle is safe for its occupants. The Japanese car manufacturer installed side airbags, curtain airbags for the front and rear, torso airbags, ABS, ESP, and rollover sensor.
