2013 Ford Fiesta ST – Photos and Info

At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Ford unveiled a three-door version of the Fiesta ST concept presented in Los Angeles last year. Just like that concept, this production model will also be powered by a 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline-four cylinder engine that is good for 177 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque.

According to Ford’s officials, this model will be sold in Europe, although they do consider trying the U.S. market as well. The performance estimated by the Americans is more than acceptable: 0 to 62 in less than seven seconds, and a top speed of around 140 mph. Thanks to the EcoBoost technology, the CO2 emissions are 20 percent lower than in the previous Fiesta ST.

The interior comes with neat new features like the standard Recaro sports seats, MyKey system (allows owners to limit performance in order to increase safety for inexperienced drivers) and SYNC (Ford’s voice controlled connectivity system).

The exterior is bolder and more dynamic, and gets a new, larger trapezoidal grille.

Ford said that the Fiesta ST will be available for purchase sometime at the beginning of 2013. Pricing hasn’t been released yet, but it is expected to be in the same area as the one of the previous Fiesta ST, which means from $17000 to $25000.
