2014 Ford Escort hits the patent office

by SpeedLux

Several patent photos that depict the Ford Escort have surfaced on the net recently, ahead of the car’s market release in China in the year 2014.

Ford did give a surprise to quite a few car fans back in April at the Shanghai Auto Show when they resurrected the Escort moniker with a concept that was designed as a preview for a C-segment car which they plan on selling in China. Now we have come across several patent photos showing the production version which will be out in 2014 featuring a familiar Ford design with the generous front grille and Focus-like taillights.

However China might not be the only market where Ford has plans of selling the Escort as the company feels that such a model has the potential to work in other places as well. The vehicle could very well be suitable for markets where small sedans (like the Dacia Logan) are popular, specifically in Eastern European countries.

So these patent images have now created a lot of excitement and now we are eager to get more details about these models and also we hope more details to be revealed for this model and very soon.
