Subaru has officially taken wraps off the 2015 Legacy at the Chicago Auto Show.
Set to go on sale this summer, the redesigned model has a “nosecone” front fascia that “combines the grille and bumper into one smooth piece.” Other highlights of the model include a steeply raked windscreen, muscular wheel arches, LED taillights, an Active Grille Shutter system (on 2.5i models) and 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels.
In terms of exteriors, the styling may not be that great but the cabin comes nicely equipped with higher quality materials and an improved design. Notable highlights include soft-touch plastics, metallic trim and an infotainment system with a 6.2-inch display.
Under the hood, two engines are available. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder outputs 175 hp (130 kW) and 174 lb-ft (235 Nm) of torque, while the 3.6-liter six-cylinder is able to generate 256 hp (191 kW) and 247 lb-ft (334 Nm) of torque. Both are connected to a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
If we talking about handling, the Legacy now comes with a new power steering system and an Active Torque Vectoring system which can apply brake pressure to the inside front wheel to facilitate more neutral cornering.
