3 dead and few injured after car crash on Highway 22

Three people were killed and few were injured after a car crash on Highway 22 in Arkansas.

The crash took place around 4:30 p.m. on May 7 when a 34-year-old identified as Krystal Jones was driving a 2002 GMC Yukon with five passengers after a 2014 Land Rover hit her vehicle head-on. Killing her and two others and injuring three others.

Fatalities included Jones, Sherrie McCutcheon, 54, and a minor.

The driver of the Land Rover and the passengers in the Yukon were left with injuries and were admitted to Baptist Health-Fort Smith and Mercy Hospital Fort Smith.

The 2002 GMC Yukon was driving East on State Highway 22, while a 2014 Land Rover was driving west at the time when it crossed the center turn lane hitting the Yukon head-on.

An unidentified minor was driving Land Rover.

Arkansas Department of Public Safety was investigating the crash.
