2 killed after head-on car crash in Johnston County

Two people were killed after a car crash that took place on Monday morning in Johnston County, North Carolina.

The crash took place around 9 a.m. near the Highway 301 and Bay Valley Road intersection.

Officials with North Carolina State Highway Patrol were doing speed enforcement in Wilson County when a black Dodge Charger passed troopers and was going 112 miles per hour.

Troopers started chasing after the black car, and followed it into Johnston County after which the black car crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck a white pickup truck.

Two people in the pickup truck were killed.

A third person in the truck was admitted to the hospital.

The driver of the black car had significant injuries.

The identities of the victims were not released yet.
