Audi has recently released a new promotional video that pits a 1983 Sport Quattro against a 2013 S3 on a rally circuit.
If we have to compare the specifications, on paper, it looks like a relatively even match as the Sport Quattro of 1983 has an advantage of just 6 HP (4 kW) over the S3 of 2013. However, the model comes equipped with a five-speed manual transmission which could give Stig Blomqvist a slight edge over Hermann Müller’s S3.
Be rest assured we are not going to spoil the results but just to brief you the S3 comes equipped with a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine that is able to generate an output of 300 HP (221 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. It is further mated to a six-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system which enables the hatchback to accelerate from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in 5.1 seconds and can go on to hit an electronically-limited top speed of 250 kmph (155 mph).
We can say that the race should be rather exciting and so go and see the video and enjoy the race.
