Audi releases e-Tron Spyder Sketches. To be unveiled during 2010 Paris Motor Show

by Alex Patrick

That Audi has been preparing to showcase their e-Tron Spyder concept car at the 2010 Paris Motor show is a well known and established fact. They have released the first sketches of the concept and from the looks of it the product seems amazing.

Audi had displayed an e-Tron at the Detroit Auto Show back in January also. That car had two electric motors driving it and generating a total power of 150 KW or 204 bhp and 2,650 Nm torque or 1954.54 lb ft. This present concept car to be seems to be a successor of the Detroit show e-Tron.

The Detroit show model of the e-Tron has the capability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph that is 62.14 mph in 5.9 seconds. The car can however accelerate from 60 to 120 kmph which is 37.28 mph to 74.56 mph in just 5.1 seconds. One charge drive distance of the car is 250 km or 155.34 miles. Audi had also to its credit the display of the first e-Tron car in the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. That concept was powered by four electric motors that gave an output of 313 hp.

That concept car had the acceleration factor of 0 to 100 kmph or 62 mph in 4.8 seconds while the 60 to 120 kmph or 37.28 mph to 74.56 mph took just 5.1 seconds. Range of drive for that concept car was 248 km or 155 miles in one single charge. The new e-Tron Spyder is however expected to be fitted with the 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine from Audi itself. This engine delivers 250 hp to the wheels at the rear and is mated to the DSG double clutch gearbox. Two electric motors would be driving the front wheels and the e-Tron can be transformed into a total electric car to be driven for 50 km or 31 miles on a single charge.
