Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Might Come With More Power

Officially, Bugatti has stated that it plans to build a total run of just 150 examples of its Veyron Grand Sport supercar, but now, in an interview with Dutch magazine Autovisie, the CEO of Bugatti, Wolfgang Dürheimer said that it is not possible to integrate the Super Sport package into the Veyron Grand Sport.

He explained that the 1,200 hp engine from the Veyron Super Sport is not compatible with the Veyron Grand Sport because although has extensive reinforcements to compensate for the lack of standard roof, the structural rigidity of the car is not enough to handle the 1,200 hp generated by the engine of the Super Sport. Beside this, there are aerodynamic difficulties concerning the airflow towards the W16 engine when the rooftops has been removed. Still, Dürheimer suggested that more than the current 1,001 horsepower is possible.

“1,200 horsepower is too much, but more than 1,001 is absolutely possible.”

However, the CEO said that only 40 examples from the official 150 planned Veyron Grand Sports have been sold, so it’s clear Bugatti is in no real hurry to launch more variants.

Wolfgang Dürheimer also added an interesting anecdote to the interviw… he revealed that one buyer from the Middle East bought a total of eight Veyrons, two for himself and six for his mates.

Price: will exceed with much the $2,000,000 limit.
