Palermo Drive in Santa Barbara crash

Santa Barbara City Fire and Police responded to the incident involving a Jeep that struck into a home in Santa Barbara Friday evening.

The incident took place around 7:02 p.m. on the 700 block of Palermo Drive. Less than a mile from the scene of Thursday’s accident where a car fully entered the front of the Las Positas Liquor store.

Firefighters replied multiple engines to the scene.

The car appears to have driven through hedges and into the front windows of the home, however it did not get inside the house.

Good news is that no one was injured in the crash.

Police carried out a field sobriety test on the driver of the car, a 22-year-old man that neighbors say drives through the neighborhood frequently. Neighbors also told NewsChannel 3 that the man was driving recklessly before the crash.

The driver was arrested following the sobriety test for suspicion of DUI.

Police is still investigating the collision.
