The German tuning company Carlsson has Showcased its CS60 S-Class program at the IAA 2011. The original Mercedes-Benz S600 received numerous upgrades in performance, wheels, the aerodynamic package and interior refinements.
The twin-turbo V12 powerplant has been updated with a sports exhaust and an ECU remap, and now delivers 600 hp instead of the factory stock power output of 517 hp. As for the peak torque, this was limited to 755 lb-ft (1024 Nm). Thus, the luxurious ride can now hit 62 mph in 4.3 seconds.
On the cosmetic department, the car has been equipped with a complete new body kit, which features a front apron, front spoiler lip, and Carlsson logo on the bonnet and grille inserts made of electro-polished stainless steel. The side of the Mercedes has a new set of side skirts with the long wheelbase, four additional headlight (fog lights and high beams) as well as vertically integrated LED daytime running lights and the rear of the S-Class received a new rear apron and a sporty rear spoiler.
The car is lowered by the C-Tronic Suspension system up to 30 millimetres and has the suspension adjusted according to the detected parameters. High-performance tyres from Dunlop (255/35 front and 275/35 ZR 20 rear) provide contact with the road and cover the 20 inch light alloy wheels 1/10 Brilliant Edition.
The interior is updated with the basic package which includes leather on both front seats, the rear seat bench with all head rests and all four door panels. The Carlsson logo is embossed into the headrests and lights up in the door sills. The logo is also visible on the aluminium pedals and footrest.
Carlsson has once again shown us what it can do with a high performance car, making the merge be a perfect combination within its result.
