The British, it is so believed, have a general dislike for the American sports cars which also includes the Chevrolet Corvette which happens to be the best offering from GM. But that isn’t stopping GM to launch the Camaro in the UK. In fact, the company has already announced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that it is firming up plans to offer the Camaro muscle car in the UK as early as 2011.
The Camaro base model has 304 horsepower and a V6 engine. UK buyers will only have the option to buy the SS model with 426 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. The sedan however is available in many different editions in the U.S. market. Even though, the company did not make the price tag public the experts in the market believe that the company would charge a hefty premium over the U.S sticker price of $32,000.
The U.K version of Camaro will be on display in car showrooms sometime during the first half of 2011. However, the Camaro has been on sale in the U.S since 2009. The muscle car has turned out to be a good seller for GM despite it’s hard-to-use interior. The company has reported to have sold over 200,000 units of the fantastic sedan.
The SS model is capable to dash from 0 – 60 miles per hour in as low as just five seconds and can run at a maximum speed of 155 mph. The suspension is also designed in the new supercar to be tuned to cope with British roads.

The base V6 has 312 horsepower. It was originally thought to be 304, but GM had it certified at 312 a few months back.
It was conveniently done right after the Ford Mustang released its V6 figure at 305 HP for the 2011 year.
