Citroen C3 Hybrid Air goes green in Geneva

Even though it is looked down by many, the Citroën C3 Hybrid Air is considered the one of the most informative cars being showcased in Geneva this year.

Offered along with the facelifted C3, the newer version of the supermini utilizes Hybrid Air engine which is scheduled to enter production in 2016 for other segment models. This system consists of a gasoline engine, a hydraulic motor-pump, compressed air and an automatic gearbox featuring an epicyclic gear train.

The company officials did not dislcose many details but they say the engine can work on gasoline, air or a combination of the two. They say that in the Citroën C3 the Hybrid Air technology would result in the cars to have a fuel consumption of just 2.9 liters / 100 km with CO2 emissions of only 69 g/km. During city driving, the cars can be used in Air type as zero-emission vehicles for most of the time.

So going green is the mantra for Citroen and it has done with style.
