Fiat 500L gains Beats Edition and two engines

by SpeedLux

Fiat has recently announced a Beats Edition for the 500L model which from now on will be offered with two additional engines.

Firstly, the 500L Beats Edition comes with an uprated Beats sound system developed specifically by Dr. Dre and Interscope Geffen A&M Records chairman and record producer Jimmy Iovine. The special model can be distinguished by a two-tone grey and black livery available in matte or glossy finishes and complemented by red and satin chrome elements. On the inside there’s a similar style with a “total black” look, an eco-leather black trim with red stitching as well as a new fabric.

Aside from coming up with a special edition, Fiat is introducing two new engines for the 500L in the form of a 1.6-liter MultiJet II turbodiesel and a 1.4-liter T-Jet turbocharged gasoline motor. Both of them output 120 HP (88 kW) but obviously are differentiated by the torque figure which in the diesel stands at 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) while the gasoline engine delivers 215 Nm (158 lb-ft) of torque.

The diesel-powered 500L will be able to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) sprint in 10.7 seconds while the gasoline-running model is 0.5s quicker in the sprint. Regardless of the engine choice, these two new 500L models come with a top speed of 117 mph (189 kmph).
