Ford’s pony car has been surpassed in sales figures by its competitors from Chevy by 33 percent for the month of May 2011. Other bit of news is that Mustang V6 Sport Appearance which is considered to be America’s second favorite muscle car after being surpassed by the Camaro is being offered in Japan as a special edition version.
The Mustang model that would be available in the Japanese market would follow the pattern that is usually the case with all the models form Mustang that come with the word “Special” attached with them. There would be a different paint job that the car would come in as well as other add-ons for the Japanese customer.
The colors that the car comes in for them would be between Performance White and the Grabber Blue which is more in accordance with the 70’s style. There would be special pin stripes on the sides and the bonnet cover in both cases.
For interior makeup there are the leather seats while other external enhancements include a rear boot lid spoiler and 18 inch chromed alloy wheels wrapped around chunky 235/50 R18 tires.
The engine fit that comes with the package is a 3.7 liter V6 engine, which is rated in Japan at 309-horses and 378Nm (278.8 lb-ft) of peak torque.
To be available in both the coupe and convertible versions, price for each of the cars has been fixed at 4.35 million Yen which is $54,250 USD for the Coupe version and 5.05 million Yen or $63,000 USD for the soft top Convertible version. Just 25 units of each car with their individual body would be produced for the market.
