European and American consumers can not do anything but wait for Ford to give them an ST or RS variants of the latest hatchback Fiesta running on one of the new turbo EcoBoost engines. We still need to wait for sometime, and for now Ford tries to please the market with the sportier version of the Fiesta in the form of the S1600.
The Ford S1600 will have a limited run and only 650 car buyers in the UK can get hold of this special edition Fiesta. The sticker price for this hatchback is £16,645.
There is nothing special with regard to the car’s performance. The S1600 will be offered with two options for the engine. There will be the 1.6L petrol version that gives out 120 horsepower and a turbo diesel 1.6L option that provides 95 horsepower.
Like how the standard release is being marketed, the S1600 comes with a performance package option from Mountine that ups the numbers to 140 horsepower and improving the cars 0 to 60 mph sprint to 7.96 seconds from 9.9 seconds.
The exterior of the S1600 Ford Fiesta is fitted with a styling kit that features a nice front bumper that has a flared valence panel on its lower portion, side skirts that are extended, rear diffuser and rear spoiler, and white 17-inch alloy rims. The diesel variant gets a 16-inch alloy wheel.
You can only get the car in Performance Blue or Frozen White finish with sport stripes to contrast.
The insides of the S1600 also give you a sportier feel. It has a Quickclear wind shield, leather sport seats, side airbags, and leather treatment for the steering wheel, gear knob, and the handbrake. The S1600 also comes with alloy pedals and motorsport scuff plates and floor mats.
