General Motors said on Monday it developed a worldwide continuity plan with its partners and suppliers to mitigate the uncertainty experienced by the auto industry after the increase in Covid-19 cases in China.
The automaker said it was on track to launch over 20 new and refreshed models in China despite the coronavirus’s impact.
The COVID-19 curbs that have been imposed in China to deal with the worst outbreak in two years caused auto sales in the country to decline since March.
GM’s sales dropped 21.4% to 613,000 vehicles in China in the first quarter compared with a year ago. Sales of its top-selling Chevrolet brand fell nearly 20% in the same period.
