Holden and Pontiac were reportedly developing new versions of the Monaro and GTO but due to some unfortunate reasons, neither model could be produced. However, that still given some tuner to imagine what these models could have looked like and Theophilus Chin has created a render of what could have happened to these models.
The drawing seems to be inspired from the VF Commodore and the Monaro has a conservative design that closely echoes the sedan. Despite this, the model has been equipped with features such as a bulging hood, ventilated front fenders and a rear diffuser that is flanked by a four-tailpipe exhaust system.
Engine options that could have become part of the models included:
A 3.6-liter V6 engine with an output of 285 HP (210 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque
A 6.0-liter V8 mill rated at 367 HP (270 kW) and 530 Nm (390 lb-ft) of torque
A 6.2-liter V8 engine rated at 431 HP (317 kW) and 550 Nm (405 lb-ft) of torque
A 6.2-liter V8 with an output of 442 HP (325 kW) and 550 Nm (405 lb-ft) of torque
A supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine outputting 585 HP (430 kW) and 740 Nm (545 lb-ft) of torque
