Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Convertible Concept

Land Rover was the first car manufacturer to produce a coupe SUV. Later, Nissan created the Murano Convertible, the first convertible SUV. Land Rover decided to also give it a shot in the Convertible business by revealing a new concept – the Land Rover Evoque Convertible.

This automobile is based on the three-door Evoque. The roof is a fully retractable textile one with roll-over protection system. According to Land Rover, there is going to be very little change to the car’s motorization or weight. The engine will have a little more rigid torque. Other than that, thee two engine choices will probably still be the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine and the 2.2-liter turbodiesel. The curb weight will be somewhere in the area of 3900 lbs.

Being an SUV, the Evoque Convertible will get an all-wheel drive, with power ranging between 240 and 300 horsepower, and torque between 250 lb-ft and 300 lb-ft.

Land Rover is planning on revealing the concept at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show that starts next month. They will give us more info about this car and its release date at that time, and we’ll fill you in as well.

speedlux.com will give you exclusive information on the Land Rover’s first convertible as soon as it comes out.
