Lotus planning more Evora and Elise models

British automaker Lotus will be going through a restructuring program of three years as informed by the owner DRB-Hicom recently.

Currently, the details about the troubled automaker are limited but it seems DRB-Hicom has already invested more than 100 million GBP to keep Lotus alive. It seems that the owner is now convinced that the company is worth fighting since in the last few months the sales have increased. DRB-Hicom also confirmed that the new Evora and Elise variations were on the way, following the recent launch of the Exige S Roadster.

In addition, Lotus’ new owner also said that the ambitious plan created when Dany Bahar was the CEO of the company has been officially terminated now. It was an exciting and an ambitious program which included reboots of the models such as Esprit, Elan, Elite and a four-door coupe called Eterne.

There are some chances that we may get to see the Esprit in production form, because when DRB took over the company, the car was almost ready. So it could be brought back to life with minimal investments.

Well let’s see how the new owner is able to save the company from the financial woes that it has been going from quite some time and also if he is able to improve the performance of the bottom line of the company.
