To drive away all the rumors swirling around the web, the British automaker McLaren has finally unveiled officially that for next year’s F1 competition, the company will rely hugely on Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button. It is quite interesting to find out that in order to keep Jenson Button racing for the brand next season, McLaren has had no choice but to let go of Kevin Magnussen as its racer. From now onwards, the latter will serve as the reserve and test driver at McLaren. After the official statement from McLaren comes out, it is now clear that Jenson Button will enter his sixth year racing with McLaren. Yet, as for Fernando Alonso, he is barely coming back to the team. For your information, he was seen joining the team back in the year 2007 and it was only for a fairly short time, too.
It seems that McLaren has not only changed its drivers for the next competition season. Instead, the company has also made the switch in terms of its engine supplier. For all these years, the team has always had its engines supplied by the luxury German automaker, Mercedes-Benz. However, for the next F1 season, it chooses to go with Honda. The company will reportedly use the engine from Honda upon its MP4-30, which will be unveiled next year.
It is exciting to see Fernando Alonso, 33, and Jenson Button, 34, working together as a team. When the 2015 F1 season actually starts, McLaren will have the most experienced F1 tandem drivers ever in the competition. But then again, will that guarantee that McLaren will triumph in the competition? That remains to be seen.
As Fernando Alonso pointed out during his introduction as one of the official F1 drivers for McLaren in 2015, he would be determined and enthusiastic to take part in the competition. However, the man also realizes that it will take him and his fellow teammates at McLaren quite some time to achieve McLaren’s goal, that is, if they ever make it at all. As for Button, he is sure that McLaren and Honda fits well together and he claims that everyone in McLaren will do their best to present an effective and brilliant winning team.
