Two women died and one person injured after a vehicle driving the wrong way on Interstate 55 resulted in a multi-car crash early Sunday morning.

Police said drugs may have been involved in the incident.

Memphis Police said the three-vehicle crash took place just before 4 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-55 near Brooks Road. Police identified two women as Jalissa Elliott, 18, and Sabrina Cobb, 49. Another person was in non-critical condition.

According to the crash report, a 15-year-old girl who claimed to have been in the car with Elliott informed the officials that the pair had just left a party where Elliott “got ‘high’ on some acid and LSD. They were driving away when she “started ‘trippin’ from the drugs”.

That’s when she told the 15-year-old she was going to kill them as “we are not real” and started trying to strike other vehicles. The teen was able to get out of the vehicle before Jalissa crashed the car.

The car was found down the interstate, having crashed into two other automobiles.
