A Black Falcon Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 has won an outright victory at the recently concluded 2013 24 Hours of Nürburgring.
The #9 Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 was driven by Bernd Schneider of Germany, Jeroen Bleekemolen of Netherlands, Sean Edwards of Great Britain and Nicki Thiim of Denmark. They finished the grueling endurance race by a margin of 2 minutes and 39 seconds ahead of their nearest competitor after 88 laps.
Toto Wolff, the Head of Motorsport at Mercedes-Benz stated that the victory in this 24 hour race at the Nürburgring was just the reward for the loyalty of their customer teams. He further added that the Nürburgring race has always had a great importance and symbolic meaning for Mercedes-Benz, because this is where the legend of the Silver Arrow was born, so it is all the more gratifying to witness the success here today of the AMG customer teams.
In totality, seven SLS AMG GT3s competed in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring and the #22 car by Rowe Racing came in third position overall.
