MINI Superleggera Vision concept revealed with an electric powertrain

This past weekend MINI unveiled the Superleggera Vision concept at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The gorgeous Superleggera Vision Concept was jointly developed with Touring Superleggera, combining modern Britishness with Italian flair. It is basically iconic MINI meeting a more elegant an athletic beauty, resulting in a sleek stunning two seat roadster.

The concept is unlike anything else by MINI currently and it is even hard to guess at first that this is a MINI.

The hand-crafted body features soft curves, a bespoke Como Blue paint job, carbon fiber front splitter, carbon fiber reinforced plastic side sills and a distinctive rear fin.

The cabin is very elegant and minimalist with premium leather upholestery, a digital instrument cluste, aluminum-covered dashboard, three-spoke steering wheel, an analog clock and Union Jack-inspired structural elements in the doors.

What’s under the hood is not very important as it is a concept after all, but MINI did confirm it is powered by a single electric motor. It would be much cooler if it used the hybrid tech from BMW’s i8.

There is no word about potential production plans, but MINI clearly needs to add this model to its line-up or have Touring Superleggera build a limited run. It is a stunning concept!
