The Chevrolet Cruze may not be making quite well sales in certain countries, especially Asian countries. However, the car is actually a very capable sedan that is offered at a very affordable rate. Now, the next generation variant of the model has been caught on camera. This new and mysterious Chevrolet Cruze test mule was caught on camera as it was performing some factory tests somewhere in the northern part of the European continent.
Despite the fact that the car was covered in very heavy camouflage, it did not take rocket science, especially for car enthusiasts, to tell that it would end up as the new Cruze from the American automaker. The car can be seen on the spy photos sporting a front grille with a new design. This gives the car a clearly different look when compared to its Chinese market counterpart. The latter made its debut back in April last year. Speaking of the grille, it has dual ports, looking like a bow-tie, the emblem of Chevy – nickname for Chevrolet.
Of course, however, the front grille should not be the only thing that catches people’s attention. In this case, the mysterious Chevy Cruze can also be seen featuring exterior side mirrors mounted on its doors, an antenna with the shark fin style – which is typical of BMW vehicles, and also a beltline that sweeps upwards.
Apart from the visual styling of the car, the new Chevrolet Cruze is most likely to feature a 1.4L turbocharged engine, if not a naturally aspirated 1.5L one. It is believed that Chevrolet will also offer more than just one gearbox option for buyers of the next generation Cruze. It is said that a 6-speed manual gearbox, a 6-speed automated manual gearbox and a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox are to become available for purchase.
