For the Japanese from Nissan it wasn’t enough to reveal the Nissan Invitation (which is most likely a preview of the future Nissan Note) at the Geneva Motor Show, they also had to reveal another concept, which so far is covered in mystery.
The Hi-Cross Concept, although oddly named, it does not have nearly as weird of a name as the Nissan Qashqai, especially because this one describes the segment of the market the Hi-Cross will be part of – the one of the Crossovers.
There isn’t much to be learned about the Hi-Cross from the one picture Nissan has released of this car. It is clear that it looks a bit more mature than the Qashqai, and the car’s lines also describe a more dynamic feel. Sadly, the Japanese wouldn’t release any other information, only talking about how Nissan is the leader in the crossover segment.
The Qashqai is currently the most successful Nissan, in all the markets of the world, from America to Asia. So is it possible that this mysterious concept is the future of the Qashqai series? This can neither be confirmed nor infirmed with the information that has been made available so far.
Nissan will say more about this concept at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show that starts in March.
