Nissan GT-R Nismo to be fastest ever, pack an ‘extra kick’

by SpeedLux

Nissan has recently revealed that the upcoming GT-R Nismo will become the fastest GT-R ever made. The announcement was done by the executive vice president of Nissan, Andy Palmer.

While speaking to Autocar, Andy stated that the model will have revised styling but most of the changes will involve aerodynamic tweaks for improved downforce. The GT-R Nismo can be expected to have a sportier suspension as much of the tuning has been done by the Nismo race team which fields the model in Japan’s Super GT series.

The company executive did not given any details with respect to the performance specifications but said the model will have some “extra kick.” This implies that the model is quite likely to have a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 engine that will be able to produce more than 542 hp (405 kW). Regardless of what the final numbers could be, he asserted that the production car record at the Nürburgring was the gold standard, and the company expects to lower that.

The GT-R Nismo could be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show which would be held in November and so more details are expected to be revealed in the coming months. We will keep you updated as we come to know more about the same.
