It seems that those with the deep pockets in Saudi Arabia will soon be able to lay their hands on one of the most legendary vehicles ever developed by the German exotic car manufacturer, Porsche. Recently, a Saudi Arabian auto dealership, the Seven Car Lounge, has put up the car for sale. To tell the truth, this may prove to be a once-in-a-lifetime chance for those in the Middle East to drive home one of these vehicles to their garage.
Situated at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Seven Car Lounge is currently displaying an example of the Porsche 918 Spyder in the silver paint in its showroom. The vehicle comes with a host of interesting features, such as, a set of green brake calipers, wheels with design that was originally used when Porsche first announced the concept version of the model in 2010 and even a carbon fiber roof. The excitements do not end there, though.
Stepping into the cabin of the vehicle, customers will find that the interior elements of the car have been wrapped in red leather. This red leather covers pretty much everything, including the door trims, dashboard, seats, transmission tunnel and even the car’s center console. Some select items, however, are wrapped in the black leather instead, such as the steering wheel. To top it off, the car in question is no stranger to a host of carbon fiber accents, either.
Now here comes the most interesting bit of all, the engine. The Porsche 918 Spyder hides a very capable 4.6L V8 engine under its hood. Mounted at the middle part of the car, this naturally aspirated engine from Porsche is capable of delivering a total power output of 608 hp. Yet, for even more power, there are two electric motors available as well. These motors can work either independently or side by side with the conventional V8 engine, all for the sake of better performance or horsepower. Just so you know, one of these motors is enough to boost the car’s power output to 887 hp. Last but not least, power is sent to the rear wheels using the typical Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) 7-speed gearbox. Doppelkupplung actually means ‘dual clutch’ in English.
