The British based Range Rover has announced that it will be releasing the Range Rover Evoque model in India and the JLR corporate dealer ship in Mumbai will be the first to receive the Evoque models. They had released the Evoque in the Malaysian markets a few days ago. Tata Motors MD, PM Telang has released a statement that the Range Rover Evoque will join the ranks of other Land Rover & Range Rover models and they are hoping it will be a huge success in the Indian markets.
Under the hood, the Evoque will be equipped with the 2.0 liter displacement petrol engine with the Dynamic Plus performance upgrade which allows the unit to produce an output of 240 Horse power and 340 N-m of torque for the wheels. Range Rover will also provide the 2.2 liter diesel engine giving a power output of 240 Horsepower and 420 N-m of Torque which will be available only for the 5-door Evoque models.
The petrol engine equipped Evoque will take just 7.6 seconds to make the 0 to 60 miles per hour whereas the diesel variant will take around 8.5 seconds. As expected, the maximum speed for the diesel variant is 195 km/h and for the petrol version it is 217 km/h. The power will be transferred to the wheels through the F-21 AW six-speed automatic transmission provided with a Rotary Auto shifter.
The Evoque is scheduled to be released in both coupe version and 5-door versions with the 5-door models featuring the diesel engine and the Coupe models getting the petrol engine unit. The crossover will be offered in three classes, Dynamic, Pure and Prestige. The Evoque will probably cost around 44.75 lakh rupees in the Indian markets.
