Land Rover has recently revealed their Range Rover Sport pace car for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
The company didn’t share much information about the model but it appears to be a range-topping Autobiography variant that comes fitted with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that generates 510 HP (375 kW) and 625 Nm (460 lb-ft) of torque. This should enable the pace car to accelerate from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in 5.3 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 250 kmph (155 mph).
Despite seeming unfit for pace car duties, the Range Rover Sport Supercharged recently became the fastest production SUV to ever climb the mountain. It completed the 12.42 mile (20 km) long course in duration of 12:35.61 with an average speed of 59.17 mph (95.23 kmph).
