There are rumors flying all around that Rolls-Royce was planning a crossover to compete with the production version of the Bentley EXP 9 concept, but the company’s Asia Pacific director has said nothing is in the pipeline right now.
Speaking to a popular magazine He said the company does not have any plans to produce a crossover but the idea was not ruled out. He further added that Rolls-Royce’s values are very clear that we will never say never to anything.
He further elaborated that the Wraith will possibly remain the company’s latest and newest model for the next two and a half years and nothing new has been planned as of now.
Rolls-Royce’s South and East Asia Pacific general manager, clarified his stance by saying that a crossover faces two basic challenges: styling and ride quality. According to him, The number one concern before design, though, is ride quality. He noted, SUVs are not known for their ride quality.
If Rolls-Royce ever approved a crossover, He said it would be launched not until the end of the decade because their models are hand built and it would take several years to make people accustomed to our production system and hence it would take a lengthy time to build it.
Let us hope that the crossover plans are revived and Rolls Royce comes out with one very soon.
