Saker goes after Spyker

by Adrian Hayden

The Dutch race car manufacturer, Saker, has unveiled the two models that will compete with the more experienced Spyker car maker. The RapX and the Sniper are priced at around 50,000 EUR and are only track-legal. The German car builder will only sell the cars in Europe. It seems that there are no plans of selling the car in Asia or the U.S. The new cars have different designs from the last models, and have a reduced body weight which will give the cars a better power-to-weight ratio.

Both of the cars have under the bonet a turbocharged Subaru engine that can be mated, optionally, with a sequential transmission. Huub Vermeulen, a well known track organizer sait that this car is perfect for people who just want a car for the track day. ‘Amateur sport is the future’ he said. The car will probably have a big succes because it has a price tag of only 47,950 EUR for the open top version and 49,950 for the hard top.

The car is much more cheaper than many other cars that have the same performance.
