STaSIS Engineering – the North America based aftermarket specialist has come up with a new performance package for the Audi S5 Cabriolet in the UK. The STaSIS Engineering S5 Cabriolet Challenge Edition will have an upgraded kit that includes an engine tune, Ohlins performance suspension, monoblock brake calipers and a limited-slip differential.
Post the tuning job, the 3.0 liter supercharged V6 engine is now good for an impressive 410 horsepower, about 77 horsepower more than what the factory S5 Cabriolet has to offer. Similarly, torque figure has also got a boost from 344 lb-ft or 465 Nm to 370 lb-ft or 500 Nm. The power boost has been achieved by the fitment of a high performance exhaust system as well as remapping of the ECU remap.
With an increase in power output, its all but natural for the car to have better performance, something that gets reflected in the car’s take off abilities. Like the STaSIS’ S5 Cabriolet is now able to hit the 60 mph or 98 km/h mark from standing still in just 4.3 seconds, 0.7 seconds faster than the standard model. With more power on tap, it becomes imperative to bring about an improvement in the braking department as well. Like the S5 convertible is fitted with Alcon 6-piston monoblock calipers, 370 mm two piece front discs, high performance pads and braided stainless steel brake lines to improve stopping power.
For an enhanced handling, the suspension uses Ohlins SL dampers that offers adjustable ride height and two settings for ride comfort and better response. Then there are also the 20-inch ultra lightweight forged aluminum wheels shod in high performance low profile tires.
The performance components of STaSIS are available separately or as a package through APS of Brackley and STaSIS dealers throughout UK.
