Tesla Inc is recalling 14,684 imported and regionally made Model 3 cars in China due to the issues with software that could result in crashes, the country’s market regulator said.
This is the automaker’s second batch of recalls in April.
The automaker will recall the Model 3 Performance cars produced between January 2019 to March 2022, including 1,850 cars that were imported and 12,834 made in China, according to the State Administration for Market Regulation.
The vehicles in the question do not show a unit for the speed numbers under Track Mode and this could mislead drivers and lead to crashes under extreme circumstances, the regulator said.
Tesla hasn’t commented on the regulator’s announcements.
