Two people died following a car crash in Muskogee County, Oklahoma on Tuesday.

The three-vehicle crash was reported around 5:45 p.m. on US Highway 64 near Smith Ferry Road.

An 84-year-old male, identified as Bill Morris, of Ft. Gibson was driving southbound on US 64 when he crossed over into the northbound lane and was struck by a 2011 Cadillac SUV and a 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

Morris was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another person identified as Lula Bell Childs, 85, of Warner succumbed to injuries in hospital.

Childs was a passenger in the Hyundai.

The driver of the Hyundai was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Cadillac was expected to be in fine condition.

Officials say the cause of the crash was the inappropriate use of a lane and a medical condition of Morris.
