Two deputies dead after single-car crash in Carroll County

Two Carroll County sheriff’s deputies died after their car crashed in Indiana while it was heading to help another agency with a traffic stop.

Deputies identified as Noah Rainey and Dane Northcutt were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Their vehicle hit a utility pole on State Road 26 in Sedalia.

Rainey was on-duty at the time of the crash.

Northcutt was not on-duty. He worked in the jail and was on a ride-along.

Indiana State Police is investigating the incident.
