Two killed after car crash on I-80 near Morris

At least two people were killed after a crash involving a car and two trucks.

The crash took place around 4:50 p.m. along the Grundy County stretch of Interstate 80 at Ashton Road in Grundy County close to Morris.

Officials responded to the multi-vehicle crash involving at least one passenger vehicle and two commercial motor vehicles and I-80’s westbound traffic was diverted at milepost 112 and eastbound traffic at milepost 105.

The interstate is expected to shut down for an extended period of time.

Identities of the victims were not released.

Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
