A man drove through a crowd that assembled for a fundraising event Saturday, killing 1 person and injuring 17 people, before it fatally attacked attacking a woman in a neighboring borough in Pennsylvania.

The suspect, identified as Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes, 24, was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Doug Brewer on two open counts of Criminal Homicide.

Reyes of Nescopeck, a small township in Pennsylvania’s eastern Luzerne County, “was denied bail and remanded to the Columbia County Correctional Facility”.

No details were released about the identities of the victims.

At an earlier news conference on Saturday evening vehicle drove through a “community event” in Berwick around 6:15 p.m.

The suspect is also accused of fatally assaulting a female in Nescopeck, where he was admitted into custody by municipal police.

Police are investigating whether the suspect intentionally drove into the crowd, and have not said if there is a relation between the suspect and the female who was killed in Nescopeck.

Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the crash.

Officials have not released the identities of the two people who were killed.

The 17 injured people were admitted to four area hospitals.
