Two people were killed after a three-vehicle crash in Camden County on Friday night.

The crash took place on MO Highway 5 northbound north of Mt. Horeb Road around 6:08 p.m. when Ashley Dinkins, 24, of Camdenton, was driving a Chevrolet HHR southbound and attempted to pass Samantha Lucas 32, of Falcon, who was the driver of a 2013 Ford Edge.

Dinkins’ car was hit by Joel Montgomery, 40, of Birmingham, AL, who was driving a sleeper truck northbound.

The two passengers were ejected.

Dinkins then hit the front of Lucas’s car.

Victims identified as Jasmine Chaplain, 21, of Sunrise Beach and Christopher Trout, 26, of Lake Ozark were pronounced dead at the scene.

Dinkins and Lucas were admitted to Lake Regional Hospital for moderate injuries.
